The Physical Body
|
While staying at The Sanctuary your physical body will be nourished with organic whole foods full of life force energy. So much of the food we eat in our culture is processed and injected with unnatural and detrimental chemicals, preservatives, and hormones. The result is that we end up ingesting nothing but filler food of dead energy that leaves us feeling bloated, “stuffed”, and yet not really satiated. This causes some of us to create a very disconnected and distrustful relationship with food and our bodies because we are craving and starving for real nourishment that is not fortified by the typical American diet. Whether you overeat, under eat, or eat in another harmful manner, the result is the same, a feeling of a deprivation and imbalance. While here, you may for the first time feel what it is like to be actually full and nourished on a deep cellular level. The enjoyment and honoring of food is a sacred experience and The Sanctuary’s philosophy is one of balance. So along with the awareness of eating food that is wholesome and “alive”, when it feels right to indulge and have a dish of ice cream or a freshly baked pastry…we do!
Physical movement is also an important component of physical well-being. We specifically use the term “physical movement” instead of “exercise’. Toxins and dense emotional energy are stored in our cells. Body movement releases these debilitating energies that keep us feeling stuck, lethargic and fuzzy. Movement such as yoga, stretching and hiking along the scenic and serene desert trails that surround The Sanctuary will allow you to connect with your body and begin the process of letting go of the heavy toxins that are not conducive to your optimal feeling of health and well being. Bodywork is another element in your physical healing process, facilitating the release of toxins and traumatic cellular memory.
The Sanctuary offers a variety of healing therapies such as deep tissue, Cranial Sacral, and Thai massages as well as breathing meditations and exercises, which are just a few of the many therapies available. Bodywork releases the wadded up and congested energy that is held at the cellular level. As your body begins its process of release and renewal, it is essential to support this through sweats. The Sanctuary uses the sacred medicine of the Native American sweat lodge which assists in purging the toxins during your physical cleanse.
